Employment

The library is a governmental institution that participates in Suffolk County Civil Service.  All full-time candidates for library employment are selected from Civil Service lists.

Candidates for part-time employment (maximum of 17.5 hours per week, as per Civil Service law) are welcome to fill out the Harborfields Public Library employment application and deliver it to the Circulation Desk or mail it in.

Part-Time positions in the Library include:
Custodian • Librarian • Library Clerk • Library Page • Security Guard

Harborfields Public Library accepts applications for employment on an ongoing basis. Completed applications will be kept on file, and candidates will be considered for any open position for which they are eligible.

Harborfields Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated children’s librarian or librarian trainee to join our Youth Services department serving children from birth through grade 5.
